Proof Bristlecone Pine makes a good bonsai

Had this one for a little over a year now. Shipped from the west coast, it spent this summer out on Block Island, got lots of rain and did not mind the soaking, although the dark brown clay container got real hot during the day. It's growing spurt started in May and is still going except slowing down now. I treat this tree as if it where a cactus ignore it and it grows. Over the late fall winter I leave it unheated 30-40 degrees and water very sparingly once every two or three weeks lightly. They like wind so inside fan good idea.

Cracking Pots

Japanese Black Pine 2 year old from Block Island in high fired red Clay Bonsai Container made at 9th st. Like Matias warned the cracks came back in firing but it remained intact and Pc7 filled
them solidly. Porcelain Snowman is content.

So the first 2 Bonsai containers cracked and I repaired them and they cracked and so on. Evidently
they dried to quickly, not covered sufficiently in plastic. Matias Pfeiffer warned me that I was wasting time. He is a master see image above and was right. Breaking the pots up into little pieces felt quite good,
and one has already been reconstituted.
